FlowPilot or BookPilot?

Both are automated strategies that run inside NinjaTrader 8 and place the trades for you, with hard daily limits. They read different data: FlowPilot reads the trades in the footprint, BookPilot reads the orders waiting in the order book.

Strategy vs indicator

How this differs from visual order-flow tools

Tools such as Bookmap, Jigsaw daytradr or NinjaTrader Order Flow+ show you the order flow: heatmaps, footprints and DOM displays that you read and act on yourself. FlowPilot and BookPilot turn specific order-flow patterns into written rules and execute them, with the same risk limits every day.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I run FlowPilot and BookPilot together?

Yes. They are separate subscriptions and separate strategies, so you can run each on its own chart. Both packages contain the same Vantedge suite file: run Install.ps1 -Clean once, import VantedgeAlpha-NinjaTrader.zip once (Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-On), and paste each plan's key into its own strategy.

Do the strategies replace my order-flow indicators?

Not necessarily. Each plan includes indicators (Vantedge Footprint, and for BookPilot also BookScope) that show the same signals the strategy trades, so you can follow what it does. Many traders keep their usual charts and let the strategy handle the execution and the daily limits.

Why can BookPilot not be backtested?

NinjaTrader's historical bars do not include the order book, so the Strategy Analyzer has no depth to feed it. Market Replay records depth, so BookPilot runs there exactly as it does live.

Do they work at prop firms?

Both run on any NinjaTrader 8 account, including prop firm accounts. Firms set their own rules on automated strategies and Level 2 data, so check your firm's current rules first.
